Our Philosophy- Parental Choice

We believe that in many cases the parent is the best educator of a child.  A parent who cares will obviously do a better job than a sucession of 12 teachers who establish only a temporary relationship with a child.

Each family has their own philosophy of life.  It is important that your homeschool reflect your specific family's philosophy, otherwise it will not succeed.  ("A house divided cannot stand.")  Uncovering your family's philosophy is one of the first steps of our initial consultation.  Parental choice is the secret to homeschool success.

Though our own homeschool is a Christian based eclectic homeschool with a flexible schedule, we do not impose that on the familes with whom we consult.  All religious beliefs and teaching methods will be supported equally.  (Ok, there is one teaching method I warn against simply because I have seen so much burnout from it, but I will still respect a parent's choice to use it.) 

We see our role as one of support to the parent educator.  A support person should not attempt to tell you what teaching method to use, what curricula to buy, or what type of schedule (if any) to set for your family.
